Alan Wake 2 still hasn't made back its budget
Remedy Entertainment has released its financial report for the first quarter of 2024, and it appears that horror sequel Alan Wake 2 has yet to recoup its development and marketing budget.
Remedy's report says that Alan Wake 2 , which at last sold 1.3 million copies (making it Remedy's fastest-selling game), "recouped a significant portion of its development and marketing costs" as of the first quarter of 2024, that is, not all expenses.
However, this did not stop Remedy from reporting year-over-year revenue growth. The Finnish studio said its revenue for the quarter was 10.8 million euros, up 56.2% from the first quarter of last year.
Remedy's financial report also contains information about the studio's current projects, including the Control spin-off Codename Condor. The upcoming remake of the first two Max Paynes, meanwhile, will move into full production later in 2024.
