“Democracy endured”: Sony agreed to the demands of the players and will remove the mandatory PSN requirement in Helldivers 2
For several days in a row, players have been indignant online about the recent update in Helldivers 2. The developers of the popular cooperative shooter, due to the demands of Sony management, have implemented a forced linking of PSN accounts in the game. This decision was categorically disliked by PC players, who have already written more than 300 thousand negative reviews on Steam. Surprisingly, the struggle of gamers was not in vain, and the company reverses its decision.
Through official representatives on social networks, Sony said that it hears players and understands their indignation. Since many people did not like the idea of mandatory linking of PSN accounts in Helldivers 2, it will be abandoned forever. The company emphasizes that player feedback is invaluable for the development of the project, and the opinions of players will always be taken into account.
- said Sony.
Helldivers 2 fans and ordinary players have already dubbed this day as a big "victory for democracy". This is one of the few cases when a large company listens to players and consciously refuses to impose its own third-party services.
