Additional cards and technical fixes: DIRT 5 gets a new patch
For DiRT 5 released an update with all sorts of new features, the main one of which should help online activity: cross-platform matchmaking for public playlists in multiplayer is now available in the game.
Crossplay covers PlayStation, Xbox and PC (Steam and Windows Store) versions. If you wish, you can turn off the function, which has its own nuances: for example, if you are in a group with friends, then cross-play must be activated for all members of the group in order to be able to connect to other platforms.
At least for Steam, cross-play will definitely come in handy: the peak online in this version of DiRT 5 reached 1,203 people during the free weekend in March. According to SteamDB, the average population of DiRT 5 on Steam is only a few dozen — you can’t cook porridge with such online.
Other patch features include:
-
Eight different car wraps with Red Bull branding.
-
Red Bull arch detail for Playgrounds constructor.
-
Rainy weather and storm for all locations in the Playgrounds constructor.
-
Ghosts representing other players' times for Time Trial and Playgrounds (Gate Crasher).
-
Additional stickers for the driver card.
-
Various technical fixes.
