Mortal Kombat 11 will receive free updates for Xbox Series X and PS5

The game will receive another Kombat Pack with many new fighters, but you will also be able to upgrade to the next generation of improved versions for free.

At the end of the new Kombat Pack 2 trailer, updates will be available from November 17, one week after the launch of Xbox Series X, Series S and PlayStation 5. Updates include visual improvements, 4K resolution, and faster loading times.

It will have cross-play with intergenerational compatibility for selected modes. On Xbox, it will use the Smart Delivery feature for updates. However, it is still referred to as the "backwards compatible" version of the game, so we don't expect a huge difference.

However, this could also reduce the file size. The next generation of games will likely be larger than our current games, and the amount of memory on newer systems isn't particularly large.
