Official: Halo Infinite will be released in 2021
In the introduction to a detailed blog post on Halo Infinite posted today, 343 Industries wrote that the game is now scheduled to release for autumn 2021. Introduction written by Bungie veteran Joseph Staten, who joined Halo Infinite this August as a new project. Lead calls the release of Infinite "just the beginning of the adventure."
After the release of Reach, I became a Halo fan supporting the 343i from the outside," Staten wrote. - But I've spent the last four months immersing myself in the Halo universe again, and as Creative Director I'm honored to help our team release Halo Infinite in Fall 2021.
After the Infinite demo, former Infinite studio head Chris Lee left the project. Microsoft has also confirmed that multiplayer Infinite will be free. Despite common practice in free-to-play design, the message reiterates that Halo Infinite will not use a loot box system.
No loot boxes. No randomness or items that affect the sandbox and gameplay, wrote progression designer Chris Blom.
