Redfall reaches double digits in concurrent players on Steam, a full 3 players behind Forspoken

Forspoken and Redfall received mixed reviews upon release, especially considering they are AAA titles from major publishers. Forspoken received higher scores than Redfall, but both games sit below 65 on Metacritic. The PS5 version of Forspoken received a Metacritic score of 64, while Redfall for the Xbox Series X received a Metacritic score of 56. User scores on Metacritic are closer than average critic scores, with Forspoken and Redfall receiving 3.6 and 3.4 points, respectively. Although both games were equally received, one of them is more popular than the other, at least on Steam.

According to SteamDB, Forspoken has 88 players right now, and Redfall has 85. Both numbers are not very good , but some probably expected Redfall to have more, considering it's a recent release and a co-op-focused game. It's possible that Forspoken's 3 player numbers are because Redfall is also available on Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost. As such, the total number of users playing Redfall could be greater than Forspoken across all available PC stores. In addition, Square Enix released a new DLC for Forspoken, which may have led to a renewed interest in the game.

It will be interesting to see this intense race against records. I'm not ready to bet on who will reach the absolute bottom faster and join Babylon's Fall.
