Rumor: There will be a lot of new IP announcements at the Game Awards 2023
As exciting as it is to see new games announced for popular and established franchises, nothing beats the introduction of an exciting and brand new IP. Interestingly, we could be seeing a lot of these games in the very near future.
The Game Awards ceremony will take place on the night of December 8th, and while speaking recently on an episode of his podcast Game Mess Decides, journalist Jeff Grubb said that, judging by From what he's heard, there will be "a lot of new IP and cool stuff from third parties" at the event.
Grubb didn't go into detail, but the few announcements that have already been confirmed or announced at the show , seem to be pointing to the same thing, with Sega announcing a "new era" and developer Inscryption seeming to be pointing directly at their next game. It has been confirmed that a new game from Sharkmob and Level Infinite will also be announced.
Whether any major franchises will make an appearance remains to be seen, although potential hints were recently made about a new trailer for Death Stranding 2. Xbox also announced about "important announcements" at the exhibition.
