Stellar Blade's first ratings: very good
Today the embargo on publishing reviews for the acclaimed South Korean action game Stellar Blade has lifted and critics have given the game their first ratings. The game currently has a score of 85 out of 100 on ratings aggregator Opencritic and 83 on Metacritic, which can be called a very good result for the development studio Shift Up. The game is praised for its large-scale game world, varied levels, interesting and fairly complex combat system, decent plot and excellent music. Some critics listed the game's downsides as sexualization, sometimes overlong combat, not the most creative side quests, and not the most convenient controls during platforming. Overall, 97% of critics recommend the game for completion.
Stellar Blade tells the story of a girl named Eve, who leaves the Colony and arrives on her devastated home planet with a clear task: to reclaim Earth from the BIO:Tivs, a hostile force devastated it, and save humanity. Defeating the BIO:tivs one after another, studying evidence of the past of human civilization, Eve gradually reveals the secrets of what happened and understands that the purpose of her mission is not so clear-cut. The game will be released on April 26, 2024 on PlayStation 5.
