Take a look at the latest Unity engine tech demo - Lion
Unity Technologies has shared a new video from the new Unity Engine Real-Time tech demo called Lion. This tech demo takes advantage of the many new features supported by the latest version of the engine and gives us an idea of what developers can achieve with it.
To create this tech demo, Unity Technologies used the Unity High Definition Rendering Pipeline (HDRP) ). To achieve global illumination (GI), the team used Adaptive Probe Volumes. Also, Unity used a hair system; a new GPU-based hair cluster simulation that allows millions of strands of hair to react dynamically in real time.
The new demo environment also features vegetation from the SpeedTree. In addition, Unity used machine learning Ziva RT warp to enhance the lion's assets.
Unity Technologies claims this demo runs at 30fps in 4K resolution on PlayStation 5.
