The entire Annapurna Interactive publishing team has resigned
Indie game publisher Annapurna Interactive is experiencing serious personnel upheaval. The entire team left the company, unable to agree on a separation into a separate structure. Among the projects published by Annapurna Interactive are such hits as Stray, Outer Wilds and What Remains of Edith Finch.
Despite the massive departure of employees, the company announces the continuation of the gaming division and the fulfillment of all obligations to partners. At the same time, new personnel are being recruited.
The decision raised many questions among developers collaborating with Annapurna Interactive. The publisher not only provided financing, but was also involved in quality control, marketing and adaptation of games for different regions.
The head of Annapurna Pictures, Megan Ellison, emphasized that the company intends to continue cooperation with current partners, and all departed employees will be replaced.
According to Jason Schreier, this will not affect the Remedy studio deal, since the agreement was signed with the parent company Annapurna Pictures.
