The new trailer for Gothic Remake showed a familiar location
A brand new trailer for the remake of the original Gothic was shown at THQ Nordic today, giving us our first look at the game since it was announced in early 2020. This last look doesn't lift the veil too much, but invites a glimpse of the Old Mine in all its glory in this generation. We get a continuous view of the location as the camera pans past caves, miners and the horrors that lurk within. The release of the game is planned for PC and consoles of the new generation.
The release date of the project has not yet been set, which hints at the fact that this is still far away. The team behind the remake is Alkimia Interactive, a new studio based in Barcelona. The press release describes Gothic Remake as "the most iconic German RPG in history", so we hope the studio doesn't get in the way of expectations.
Gothic 1 Remake is the "complete" an update that will receive an improved combat system based on the premise of the original, and players will be able to "rediscover" familiar world and explore its secrets.
