Warner Bros. presented "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" - Peter Jackson and Andy Serkis are returning

Today it became known that the Lord of the Rings franchise will New films from Warner Bros. are in development. Now some details of the first of them have appeared.

The film will be called “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.” Presumably the film will tell about the events when the Nazgul tried to find Gollum and the One Ring.

Peter Jackson will again be the producer and screenwriter of the film. Co-writers will be Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who co-wrote the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. The director of the film this time will be Andy Serkis, who will also play Gollum again. Whether other actors from the original trilogy will return is currently unknown. The film is scheduled for release in 2026.
