Maneater

This story takes place in a town near an Indian reservation. Sheriff Harry Bailey is investigating a series of gruesome murders of local residents whose torn bodies were found in the woods. Rumors soon reach him that the Indians are talking about the return of the werewolf — character of the ancient legends of the tribe. The story says that whoever wishes for eternal life can perform a mysterious ceremony and get what they want. Only in addition to immortality, he gets an unquenchable thirst for blood and is forced to constantly kill. At first, Harry does not take these tales seriously, until events begin to convince him more and more of the mystical background of what is happening.
