A Virtuos employee said the studio is working on a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using the Unreal Engine 5
Today, users discovered the profile of one of the employees of the Virtuos studio, Alexey Moskovchenko, technical art director of the studio. It says that the studio is working on an unannounced remake for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on Unreal Engine 5. Despite the fact that the name of the game is not mentioned, users believe that it is already known - this is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion from Bethesda Game Studios.
A former Virtuos employee, whose identity was confirmed by a moderator on Reddit, stated that the studio is working on a project codenamed Altar, which is a remaster/remake of Oblivion. According to him, the game is being developed in the so-called pairing mode: part of the game will run on the new Unreal Engine 5, and part on the old Oblivion engine. For example, the new graphics will be rendered by Unreal Engine 5, but most of the gameplay and physics will still run on the original Oblivion engine. According to an anonymous studio employee, the game should be released by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
