The Long Dark

The Long Dark is characterized by the developers as an episodic wilderness survival simulator. The young independent studio Hinterland is responsible for the creation of the game, the backbone of which is former employees of Relic Entertainment, BioWare, Riot Games and Volition Inc.

The events of The Long Dark are developing in North America, after a catastrophe that destroyed the national infrastructure. The authors call it "a sandbox with a first-person view." In the first episode, we will play as pilot William Mackenzie, who, by the will of fate, ended up in a snowy wilderness. The player, in the company of other survivors, will collect resources and gain knowledge on how to survive in this situation. In parallel, he will have to make difficult moral choices and thereby influence the development of the virtual world.
