According to rumors, Microsoft wants to quickly make a new Fallout after the success of the series
Fallout is a big name right now, but not always for good reasons. In recent weeks, we've seen the Fallout TV show hit screens to overwhelming success, with player numbers across the entire gaming catalog skyrocketing across all platforms. On the other hand, the Next-Gen update for Fallout 4 came out in a sorry state, disappointing fans around the world.
Now there are rumors that Xbox management has realized how highly anticipated the next Fallout game is and is looking to explore opportunities to do so as soon as possible.
Currently, the next Fallout game - perhaps just Fallout 5 - is not expected to arrive until the 2030s. Bethesda Game Studios needs to complete development on Starfield and then create and release The Elder Scrolls 6.
Given this, and given the recent explosion in popularity of the Fallout franchise, it is not surprising that Xbox wants to speed up development of Fallout 5.
In a recent episode of The Xbox Two Podcast, Jez Corden said that "the company is aware" There is huge demand for the Fallout franchise, and everyone is well aware of how successful the next game in the series will be. At the moment, one of the only ways to speed up development of Fallout 5 is to take it away from Bethesda Game Studios entirely. This could be the first major Fallout game not developed by Bethesda since Fallout New Vegas released in 2010.
