Internal tests revealed no critical bugs in Cyberpunk 2077, - co-founder of CD Projekt RED
CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Ivinsky spoke about the reasons for the unsuccessful launch Cyberpunk 2077 on the consoles of the past generation. In an address to the fans, he apologized for the quality of the game, and shared further plans for the development of the title.
According to Ivinsky, the difficulties with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions arose because the studio wanted to make the most impressive game for PC and later port it to consoles. As a result, the developers did not have time to complete the project on time, since the task of porting the title to weaker systems turned out to be too difficult.
Toward the day of release the process of preparing version Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and Xbox One has accelerated significantly, and the studio was confident that the team will be able to eliminate all the shortcomings with a zero-day patch. At the same time, work continued until the release of the title, because of which the journalists received a preview late.
In the near future, CDPR plans to release several updates aimed at fixing bugs and crashes that players are experiencing on all platforms. The first will be released in the next ten days, followed by a major patch release a few weeks later. The developers also confirmed plans to create several DLCs, including free ones, as was the case with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt earlier.
The release of Cyberpunk 2077 took place on the night of December 10th. The game was released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and also became available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S through the backwards compatibility system. Versions of the title for the base consoles of the past generation were criticized due to low performance and a large number of bugs.
