AI storyteller
The game is not designed as a competitive strategy game, but as a story generator. It's not about winning and losing, it's about the drama, tragedy and comedy going on in your colony. The game creates events such as pirate raids, the arrival of merchants, and storms. But these events are not accidental. RimWorld uses an AI Storyteller (modeled after the AI ​​Director from Left 4 Dead) who analyzes the situation and decides which event they think will create the best story.

Tutorial system
The game can be difficult to understand, so we've created an adaptive learning system that observes your actions to find out which parts of the game you understand and teach you the parts you can't. If you do not understand how to manage, then the game will unobtrusively explain and help. If you already know something, then the game will not bother you.

Motley crew
The colonists are not professional settlers - they are the survivors of a passenger liner crash. They can be accountants, housewives, journalists, cooks, aristocrats, homeless children, soldiers. An aristocrat will be strong in communication skills (for recruiting prisoners and negotiating trade prices), but will refuse to do physical work. A simpleton on a farm knows how to grow food, but he can't do research. A nerdy scientist will be strong in research, but will be completely incapable of performing social tasks. The genetic killer can do nothing but kill, but he does it very well.
